VCT 2025 Rostermania: The Moves That Still Echo in 2026

VCT rostermania and the 2025 VCT offseason reshaped Valorant with bold signings, Ascension winners, and shocking roster resets.

I still remember how loud the 2025 VCT rostermania felt. One minute we were closing the book on a Valorant Champions season that ended with EDG on top, and the next minute half the league was posting thank-you messages, free-agent announcements, and 'we are excited to announce' graphics. Now, sitting in 2026, I can look back and see which moves actually set the table for the current VCT landscape — and which ones were pure offseason chaos. 🎢

The Ascension class that redrew the map

Let's start with the ladder. All four VCT Ascension winners locked in: Sin Prisa Gaming for Pacific, 2GAME Esports for Americas, Apeks for EMEA, and XLG Esports for China. Sin Prisa's story got an extra twist when Nongshim RedForce bought out the spot and took over the roster. That is the kind of move that makes rostermania feel less like a transfer window and more like a boardroom thriller. 🕵️

Bleed got booted out of VCT Pacific entirely, with Boom Esports filling their spot. I won't pretend that was a quiet headline. It changed the Pacific math overnight, and it gave Boom a chance that every Challengers team dreams about.

Sentinels after TenZ and Sacy

TenZ retired, and shortly after, Sacy retired too. That is two enormous personalities and two massive shoes to fill. Sentinels rebuilt around bang and N4RRATE, keeping zekken, Zellsis, and johnqt. They signed bang and N4RRATE through 2026, with zekken, johnqt, and Zellsis locked through 2025. Honestly, that felt like a statement: we are not rebuilding from scratch, we are reloading around a new core. 🔫

Team Key move Why it mattered
Sentinels bang + N4RRATE in; TenZ + Sacy out New core around zekken, Zellsis, and johnqt
100 Thieves Asuna, Boostio, Cryo, eeiu, Zander finalized through 2026 Stable five with Zander confirmed
G2 jawgemo locked after EG exit Star duelist on a contender
Team Vitality Derke from Fnatic; Less from LOUD; Faded as coach* Huge EMEA power move
Karmine Corp saadhak, SUYGETSU, Elite* in; Magnum dropped; ZE1SH extended Full reset around a veteran IGL

The moves that made me go 'wait, what?'

  • aspas reportedly left Leviatán, then aspas and Nozwerr joined MIBR, with cortezia also joining MIBR. That project got spicy fast. 🌶️

  • T1 signed BuZz and confirmed Meteor, while Rossy and Sayaplayer departed. T1 basically hit refresh.

  • Cloud9 extended OXY, moose, and Zeppaa, and Rossy was reportedly set to sign there too.

  • NRG added mada as a duelist, reportedly signed Verno and bonkar, and saw crashies become an unrestricted free agent.

  • Evil Geniuses parted with jawgemo, then sym and yay were reportedly set to join. EG went from contender to experiment.

  • NAVI planned to keep Shao and ANGE1, looked at Happy for head coach, and were interested in Derke and hiro. NAVI had a busy notebook. 📓

  • KOI reportedly added Soulcas, Filu, and Flyuh, with Gorilla as coach.

  • Gentle Mates reportedly picked up Zyppan and Minny, while TaKaS explored restricted free agency.

  • BBL added Jamppi and PROFEK, and allowed pAura to explore options.

  • Team Liquid reportedly agreed with paTiTek, added kamyk, allowed eMIL to explore options, and saw Jamppi, Mistic, and Enzo hit restricted free agency.

  • Fnatic sold Derke to Vitality, released hiro, and reportedly grabbed kaajak from Apeks.

  • DRX moved Buzz, BeYN, and Foxy9 to free agency.

  • Gen.G re-signed t3xture, Karon, and Munchkin, while Meteor and Lakia became free agents.

  • Leviatán reportedly looked at nataNk and made an offer to Demon1, but aspas was on the way out.

  • KRÜ reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Mazino and was in the final stages with saadhak.

  • LOUD lost Less to Vitality.

  • M80 saw BcJ, neT, NiSMO, and koalanoob hit free agency.

  • Oxygen's roster hit free agency, and Verno reportedly moved to NRG.

  • TenZ, Sacy, and Laz all retired from pro play, with Laz moving to content creation for ZETA DIVISION.

And yes, there was even a suspension: Chet was suspended from VCT until March 3, 2025. Rostermania is not always just hugs and highlight reels.

What this means for 2026

I'm not going to pretend every rumor aged perfectly. Rostermania is a rumor mill with a graphics department. Some reported deals became franchise cornerstones; others quietly vanished. But the big picture is clear: the 2025 offseason widened the talent pipeline. Challengers, Game Changers, and Collegiate players were all in the mix for limited VCT spots, and teams were willing to bench or cut contracted players for a better fit. That trend has only become more normal in 2026.

The Sentinels reset, the 100 Thieves stabilization, the Vitality and Karmine Corp power moves, and the Ascension shake-up all set the tone. If you are a fan, keep your eyes on the teams that bet on young talent instead of chasing the biggest name. That is where the next surprise contender usually comes from. And if you are a player, well, keep your phone charged. Rostermania never really sleeps. 😅
